Using PowerPoint during group sales presentations is a no-brainer as far as I’m concerned. But how you use it, is something else.

The person giving the presentation is center stage not the PowerPoint slides, which is often the case. Your PowerPoint slides should reinforce your presentation – it should not be your presentation.

You know, I do a lot of keynote speeches and sales training programs for corporate America. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been bored to tears by somebody’s presentation. It makes me want to itch!

Look, I didn’t wake up in a bad mood today. I was just reading an article in Entrepreneur Magazine about a venture capitalist guy named Guy Kawasaki whose reaction to PowerPoint presentations is just like my own.

So it got me thinking. I thought I’d put together some do’s and don’ts to help you, just in case you’re committing any of these faux pas’s.

Don’t darken the room – it really can put some people to sleep.

Don’t fall in love with your technology. You don’t need glitzy transitions between every slide.

Don’t fill up every slide. Less can actually be more.

Don’t have sentences that build one after another, and another, and another. It literally drives people crazy when presenters do this.

Don’t walk in front of the projector and cast a humongous shadow on the screen.

Don’t use a small font size. If people can’t see it from the back of the room it doesn’t belong on a slide. Use a handout!

Don’t use a dark background color on your slides.

Don’t use too many slides and make too many points.

Don’t keep your slides on the screen during your entire presentation. It becomes a distraction. There’s a better way – keep reading.

On the other hand here’s a short list of things you should do.

Do turn on all room lights.

Do use a white background color for your PowerPoint sales presentation slides.

Do hit the period key on your keyboard to darken the screen in between slides.

Do hit the period key on your keyboard when you want to show your next slide.

Do move around a little so your audience doesn’t get the impression you’re tethered to the podium or anything else in front of the room.

Do follow Guy Kawasaki’s recommendation of 10/20/30. Keep reading.

Do use no more than 10 slides. Focus on what you want people to remember. You can make it stick if you use fewer and better slides.

Do set aside 20 minutes for showing your 10 slides. People have shorter attention spans today.

Do use a font size no smaller than 30 points. Bigger fonts lead the way to making better points.

Do be brief and to the point when you’re making your key selling points.

Do have a sales conversation with your audience by asking them for their reaction to your key points.

Make your next PowerPoint sales presentation a more powerful one by using fewer PowerPoints!

And don’t overwhelm your audience with nauseating details.

Always leave them wanting more.

There are enthusiasts for every type of vehicle in the world and it’s these individuals that drive the market. No matter the purpose, any vehicle will inevitably be tweaked by it’s owner, for looks, for speed, or sound. The new hybrid market will be no exception, we are already seeing a few body kits developed for hybrids like the Toyota Prius and Honda Civic. But what affect does this have on the greenness of the hybrid car, will adding a body kit affect gas mileage and efficiency?

The answer to this question can only be answered by what type of kit you are adding. The body kits available now are small, stylish, and only add subtle styling cues. As the market matures I’m sure there will be more and more outrageous styles, but for now any kit you add will not likely affect your hybrids efficiency. These body kits replace the bumpers and side skirts existing on the car, they generally are not added on top of. Therefore you are not adding weight to your hybrid car.

Something else to consider when adding body kits to a hybrid car is how it will affect aerodynamics. As mentioned previously, most hybrid body kits are not outrageous, they are small enough to where they will not be adding considerable drag. However, if you plan on adding a large spoiler or large mouth front bumper, it’s possible to lose some gas mileage. The more drag a car has the harder the engine must work, therefore adding too large of body kit components can decrease your gas mileage.

When looking for a body kit for your hybrid car, don’t forget why you decided on a hybrid in the first place. It’s important that any additions you make to the vehicle will not adversely affect it’s efficiency. However, purchasing a stylish and simple body kit will not likely affect gas mileage in any noticeable manner. Lastly, remember that enthusiasts like yourself drive the market and the more kits sold the more that will be designed and released.

Several companies have made excellent chairs in the $3,000 to $4,000 price range category. However, in our opinion, two of these chairs stand so far above the rest that most people looking for chairs in this price range will probably want one of these two chairs–either the Sanyo HEC-SA5000C or the Omega M-5000 DLX. Because these chairs are so closely matched, we feel like a head-to-head comparison of the two chairs will probably be the most useful to our readers.

Let’s start with the Sanyo HEC-SA5000C (which is the same chair as the HEC-SA5000K, except for the color). We refer to this chair as our Mother’s Day chair, because in our conversations with the chair’s designer, we learned that he had given this chair to his mother as a gift. This is coming from somebody who could have afforded to give his mother the Sanyo Zero-Gravity Chair ($1,000 more expensive), but he preferred to give her this chair. Why? Because this chair boasts a full suite of features and an unbeatably attractive design.

The Omega M-5000 DLX also offers an incredible value for this price range. It delivers a fully-customizable massage and great usability features, although we feel that the style is a little heavy. But of course, you’ll have to make your own judgment on that. Our Omega customers love the style of this chair.

Before jumping into the features of these chairs, let’s talk a little bit about warranty and customer service issues. We’ve addressed this in our other reviews for the $4,000 to $5,000 category, but just to reiterate, we’re very excited about the warranty and customer service offered by Omega. We have never had any customer service problems with Omega, and they stand behind their commitment with the length of their warranty. This is no small issue when it comes to massage chairs. You want the chair to work, and you don’t want any hassle or extra expense if there is a problem. So it’s a big deal to us that Omega offers a serious warranty.

Sanyo, on the other hand, offers a much shorter warranty, but this short warranty is a puzzle to us, because we can see no reason for it. Sanyo does offer full service at a cost to the customer after the warranty period, but because of the quality of the chair and the few maintenance issues that arise anyway, Sanyo should put a longer warranty in writing. We’re comfortable with the chair, nonetheless, because of its great track record.

Now to the best part of these chairs-the features. Let’s start at the top of the shoulders. Sanyo has incorporated its exclusive GK roller technology, which allows the chair to reach out and gently squeeze and massage your shoulders. It also features the same sensor technology found in the more expensive Zero-Gravity chair. These are million-dollar features incorporated into a relatively inexpensive chair. The technology is truly amazing, and it actually works to relieve shoulder tension and stress.

Omega offers a dual headrest pillow, which accommodates people with different body types and enhances your comfort level in the chair. It does not offer the GK roller technology.

However, Omega does have a feature that allows the chair to search and memorize the user’s weight and body type, so that the massage can be tailored to that person. It also offers one of my favorite features, the built-in MP3 player and headset, which allows you to easily relax to music of your choice. The Omega also offers five pre-set auto programs, three for the upper body and two for the lower body, while Sanyo offers only four.

When it comes to stroke length (an important indicator of a massage chair’s quality), the Sanyo is slightly ahead. It offers a slightly longer stroke length (one-third inch longer than Omega’s 28 inches). The Sanyo is also slightly ahead in wattage, making it slightly more powerful than the Omega.

Turning the competition the other way, Omega offers a full 175 degree recline, while Sanyo offers a slightly smaller 170 degrees. In addition, the Omega comes with a smaller remote control with a fold-out panel offering full control from the remote. The Sanyo comes with two wired controls-one full panel showing an incredible amount of detail and allowing full control of every feature-and a sub-control that controls simple functions like the recline and the footrest and has a “repeat” button.

I personally prefer a remote control. While the Sanyo control offers a great range of functionality (and multi-colored screen), it looks unwieldy and imposing. I would rather have Omega’s smaller remote control, even if it means spending some time learning how it works. Again, you’ll have to decide on your personal preference.

As for the features we don’t discuss here, the reader should know that many of them are similar to each other.

Many of our readers wonder what the differences are between chairs in this price range and chairs in a higher price range. While it’s hard to generalize, it is safe to say that the more expensive chairs are slightly larger, so they can accommodate a larger body; they are more powerful, so that they can deliver a more powerful massage; and they offer the newest refinements in technology (for example, the Sanyo Zero-Gravity offers newly-refined GK Roller Technology). As far as most of the other features are concerned, however, these second-tier chairs are fully as functional (Sanyo uses its same sensor technology in both chairs, and Omega offers its MP3 functionality in both chairs). You will not regret purchasing the less expensive chair, unless you require a more powerful massage and larger frame.

Virtumonde is a pernicious Adware Trojan that is usually installed into your windows pc (Windows 2000, Windows XP, or Windows Vista) via an outdated Java Runtime Environment. Vundo, also known as Virtumonde and Virtumondo creates random letter DLL’s in C:windowssystem32 (tyeyavv.dll for example) that inject themselves into the winlogon.exe process as well as the explorer.exe process. Since Vundo injects itself into winlogon.exe removal can be very hard because winlogon.exe is in use almost every second. The biggest problem with Vundo is not necessarily the removal process, but it’s actually the detection process since Vundo creators make hundreds of variants a day in an effort to evade detection (which seems to be working unfortunately).

What are the symptoms of a Vundo Infection?

Vundo displays unblockable popup and popunder ads even when users are not actively browsing the internet. Vundo has also been known to display fake system alerts that try to scare a user into buying a fake antivirus application. Vundo is essentially a platform for delivering scams to your PC on a massive not-stop scale.

How to remove Vundo using free software – My Vundo Removal Kit.

Removing Vundo for free can be a little tough since there are so many Vundo variants and every free program has a different detection database and heuretics algorithm.

When I encounter Vundo and a client does not want to pay for any software I “break out” my free Vundo removal kit. This kit is currently comprised of:

-MalwareBytes AntiMalware (malwarebytes.org)

-SuperAntiSpware (superantispyware.com)

-VundoFix (from atribune.org)

-UnDLL (from eset.com)

To start the Vundo removal process:

1. Backup any personal data to CD, DVD or flash drive.

2. Download and install MalwareBytes Anti-Malware.

3. Load MalwareBytes Anti-Malware and click the update tab and then click update to receive the latest updates.

4. Download and install SuperAntiSpyware.

5. Load SuperAntiSpyware. SuperAntiSpyware will ask you if you want to check for new rules and definitions. Choose yes.

6. Close SuperAntiSpyware.

7. Download VundoFix.

8. Download UnDLL.

9. Reboot your PC in Safe Mode.

10. While in safe mode load MalwareBytes Anti-Malware and perform a full scan.

11. When the scan is complete click show results.

12. Remove any checked items.

13. Reboot if MalwareBytes asks you to.

14. Enter Safemode again.

15. Load SuperAntiSpyware.

16. Click Preferences and click the scanning control tab.

17. Check on “Terminate memory threats before quarantining”.

18. Close preferences and click the “Scan your computer ” button.

19. Select “Perform Complete scan” and click next

20. Let the scan complete and remove anything it finds.

21. Next, we’ll finish up the Vundo detection and removal process by using VundoFix

22. Open VundoFix and click the “Scan for Vundo” button.

23. If any Vundo infections still remain click the “Fix Vundo” button.

24. At this point Vundo has most likely been neutralized.

25. Reboot your pc.

26. You should be Vundo Free now.

27. Download and install the latest copy of the Java Runtime Environment and keep it updated.

28. Do yourself a favor and buy Spyware Doctor with Antivirus (one license protects 3 PC’s). It’s the only antivirus that I’ve tested this year to successfully detect and remove almost every variant of Vundo with very little effort.

If you think any Vundo Trojans have been missed in c:windows or c:windowssystem32 then you scan submit those files to virustotal.com for analysis. If the file you submit comes back as a possible infection then you may forcibly remove it using UnDLL. If you’re still getting popup ads then you may want to run a HiJackThis scan and email me the log file or just install Spyware Doctor with AntiVirus.
