For the elderly persons, the reason for the discount is that they are proven to be careful drivers. For the good student, insurance companies assume good students to be careful drivers as well.

There are discounts if a client will cover more than two cars in a single policy or when he has an existing policy, perhaps a health or home insurance, with the company. The former is called “multi” discount the latter multi-line discount.

Some companies find reason to discount insurance rates when the potential client or clients is a good creditor, although, not all insurance companies consider credit history as relevant. Drivers with bad credit histories can simply avoid companies with this policy. Not only will they not get a discount, worse this can provide insurance companies cause to raise their premiums.

There is no reason for anyone to avoid paying for car policies. Car insurance companies are willing to grant discounts to get customers. However, drivers must know what these discounts are and mindful of what they do in the road.
